Battery Recycling

Used batteries (nickel cadmium, nickel metal hydride, lithium ion and small lead acid less than two pounds in weight) can be recycled as follows.

In the U.S. and Canada, we have an agreement with Call2Recycle®, a non-profit organization dedicated to keeping batteries out of the waste stream, to recycle Nickel Cadmium (Ni-Cd) and Small Sealed Lead Acid (SSLA/Pb) batteries on our behalf. For more information about where to recycle rechargeable batteries, visit call2recycle.org. For customers located in Alaska or Hawaii, please contact us at corpresponsibility@motorolasolutions.com.

We also have an agreement with UMICORE, who will recycle large quantities of Li-ion, Li-polymer and NiMH batteries.

In Germany, we are a member of Gemeinsames Rücknahmesystem Batterien (GRS) foundation, an organization that collects, recycles and disposes of portable batteries. The foundation is financed by contributions from manufacturers and importers of electronic equipment.

Interested companies can contact us for more information on how to recycle their batteries.
