Overview
The MTS1 base station offers a versatile coverage solution. With its IP66 weather resistant enclosure, lightweight and ergonomic design, the MTS1 offers a wide variety of implementation options, both indoors and outdoors, including the ability to mount it at the top of a tower. The MTS1 is inexpensive and simple to install, commission and maintain - so you can provide your users with a seamless “TETRA everywhere” experience.
Features
Robust and resilient
As the powerful MTS1 supports the full functionality of a TETRA base station, service is not dependent on wide area cells. High availability solutions can be readily enabled by simply connecting two MTS1 base stations to create a highly resilient two-carrier configuration. Redundant E1 and Ethernet ports can be activated in the event of link failure, and Local Site Trunking enables the base station to operate independently of the mobile switching office if required.
Additional capacity
Without the need to acquire more spectrum, MTS1 enables you to progressively expand network capacity through deployment of low powered micro cells, re-using frequencies from more distant wider area cells, without risk of causing unwanted interference.
Key capabilities include: High power efficiency, capacity management, and a common secondary control channel (C-SCCH)
Cost effective
The ability to tower mount means shorter cables are needed, while direct AC power input removes the need for expensive rectifiers and simplifies installation and deployment.
The MTS1 supports the cost effective IP-over-Ethernet transmission technology, where an existing IP backbone can be used to reduce operational costs.
Operational Status Indication enables staff to quickly identify and diagnose any faults, saving time and associated costs.
Flexible deployment options
The MTS1 is flexible when it comes to deployment options. It can be wall or pole mounted indoors or outdoors.
It enables efficient indoor coverage by connecting to a localised antenna or leaky feeder system. This can provide focused RF coverage for indoor environments that are hard to penetrate with wide area cells.
The MTS1 is also tower mountable. MTS1 base stations can be installed close to RF antennas, ensuring that cable losses are minimised while coverage performance is maximised.
