NEW IN COMMANDCENTRAL Aware - Q2 2024

We're excited to review the work done this past quarter to improve the CommandCentral Aware experience for users. For any questions, please contact customer success.

Share your common operating picture

Access and view livestreams simultaneously with your partner CommandCentral Aware agencies while working together on an incident response. Agencies with a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in place can share groups of cameras in order to have simultaneous access to the cameras within those camera groups.

Administrators are able to share camera groups based on Agency ID (provided by the sharing agency) and make the appropriate cameras available to user groups in CommandCentral Aware. Groups are able to be shared on a temporary basis, and access to camera groups can be removed at any time. The agency receiving access will have access to the cameras in livestream only mode. The sharing agency has complete control of the cameras’ functionality, recording and access to export.

Enhanced video connections to Verkada and Milestone XProtect

A new enhanced experience for cloud-based provisioning and livestreaming is now available for Verkada and Milestone XProtect video management systems (VMS). Agencies can extend their video footprint by connecting to agency and partner-owned cameras. This new, enhanced experience allows agencies to further expand their coverage by securely accessing video from community partners, such as businesses, schools and places of worship using these VMS.

Look for additional VMS integrations coming soon. Speak with your account representative to learn more.

Enhancements for edge appliance: Video playback and Fault Events

An edge appliance allows your agency to securely access live video from community partners, connecting up to 30 IP security cameras on a network to your public safety command center.

Video recording and playback of two days for cameras connected through an edge appliance is now available, giving your agency more time to capture images for further investigation.

Your agency can now also view, investigate and resolve any errors that may occur while discovering cameras connected with an edge appliance. The Fault Events tab in the web video player Camera Manager surfaces any connection errors and provides a description to resolve the error. Search and filter to more easily find and resolve connection errors.

NOTE: Cameras connected with an edge appliance must support ONVIF Profile S for automatic discovery and configuration. RTSP streams can be consumed as well via manual configuration.

Critical Response Group (CRG) floor plan integration

Floor plans provide operators with situational awareness of a building layout, such as ingress/ egresses or room locations, in order to provide better information to responders.

Administers can now add Critical Response Group (CRG) floor plans to CommandCentral Aware by creating WMS Floor Plan layers in the Universal Web Map from CommandCentral Admin 2.0.

When CRG floor plan layers are enabled in the Map View module, the buildings and floors become available in the Facility Filter dialog box.

New in CommandCENTRAL Aware - Q1 2024

We're excited to review the work done this past quarter to improve the CommandCentral Aware experience for users. For any questions, please contact customer success.

New video player enhancements

You need to be able to quickly organize camera feeds for greater visibility during important events. Now, you can arrange active video streams with preset layout options, resize camera feeds directly on the video player grid and drag-and-drop cameras from the list to the player.

Note: These features are available for the web-based video player.

View Rave Alert notifications in your RTCC

Your RTCC or EOC needs to know when an emergency notification has been issued to your community for better situational awareness.

Keep your RTCC or EOC informed by viewing Rave Alert notifications as a map layer in CommandCentral Aware. Rave Alert notifications can be published as a GIS layer on the map alongside 9-1-1 calls, CAD incidents, vehicles, radios, cameras, sensors and more.

Note: This feature is available for current Rave Alert users.

Upgrade Your CommandCentral Aware Map Experience

3D Scenes Map Layer

3D Scenes is a map layer that can be included in the CommandCentral Aware Map View module to help you better understand terrain, infrastructure, and potential obstacles. 3D Scenes allow you to explore a virtual representation of real-world locations and environments with depth and three-dimensional features; it provides an important layer of information that can improve response times and outcomes in emergency situations.

To access 3D Scenes and navigation controls, an Esri 3D Scene must be included in the Map View module as a map layer. If your community has Esri 3D Scene layers, your system administrator can include them in the Map View by adding them to CommandCentral Admin 2.0. For more information, see the CommandCentral Aware Admin Guide.

Read more about 3D Scenes in the 12-05-23 release notes.

Enhanced Contrast Maps

Esri Enhanced Contrast Maps are now available as CommandCentral Aware basemaps in light and dark modes. The map detail is built with higher contrast and colors that are safe for individuals with color vision deficiencies.

You can assign these basemaps to user groups in CommandCentral Admin 2.0 by going to Groups →  Selected Group → Application specific settings → Universal Web Map. For more information, see the CommandCentral Aware Admin Guide.

NEW IN COMMANDCENTRAL Aware - Q3 2023

We're excited to review the work done this past quarter to improve the CommandCentral Aware experience for users of the cloud based platform. For any questions, reach out to customer success.

Receive Rave Panic Button Alerts

When an emergency happens at your community’s most vulnerable locations, getting the right information into the right hands is crucial. Law enforcement and school systems have siloed information sources, making it difficult to share critical information in real time. Responders need eyes on scene quickly in order to provide a more informed response.

The Panic Button triggers an alert that is immediately centered on the CommandCentral Aware map alongside customizable layers including your campus or building map and other geospatial intelligence sources. CommandCentral Aware receives the alert, including GPS coordinates, activator’s profile and type of incident. Your agency can remotely livestream nearby camera feeds to get eyes on the scene faster.
